The boundaries for Markham Ward 5 were re-drawn in 2014, and now include the eastern part of Markham from Hwy 407 on the south to the Markham-Stouffville Town Line on the north. Ward 5 includes the communities of Cornell, Grand Cornell, Cornell Rouge, Upper Cornell, Greensborough, Mount Joy, Swan Lake, Dickson Hill, and Locust Hill.
