Markham Ward 5 covers much of the north eastern section of the City of Markham. While the most populated areas of the Ward are too the east of Ninth Line and north of 16th Avenue, most of the area in Ward 5 is rural, stretching all the way north to the Markham Whtitchurch-Stouffville Town Line (just north of 19th Avenue) and east to the York Durham Line, and includes a large part the new Rouge National Park.
