Adam Petersen has called Cornell in Ward 5 his home for close to 20 years now. He and his wife Elise first lived in the “original” area of Cornell. With the arrival of two daughters the Petersens moved to a bigger home in nearby Grand Cornell.

Adam is a McGill University graduate and has worked in Project Management in the telecom industry for 16 years. He has always had a passion for basketball and has played his entire life, including for the Quebec Junior Provincial Team. A number of years ago Adam took his passion for basketball and turned it into a full-time commitment starting his own training company, Toronto Hoopstars. He runs numerous basketball programs in the Markham and Stouffville area including evening and weekend sessions, after-school programs with YRDSB, March Break Camps, Summer Camps, outdoor Private and Small Group Training, as well as Online Training which came about during the COVID pandemic.

He is also a volunteer coach both for both of his daughters Rep basketball teams as well as all of their school’s basketball teams (boys and girls), and was also coaching the Jr. Boys Prep Basketball team at Bill Crothers Secondary School.

Like we said … Adam LOVES basketball!

He and his family also LOVE Cornell, and they plan to live here for a very long time.
